Lisa Schonberg is a printmaker and teacher. She received her MFA in Printmaking from Kent State University and her BFA from Ohio University. Lisa explores the world of printmaking through a variety of processes including relief, intaglio and monoprinting. Her image ideas are derived from an inquisitive observation of the natural world and the premise that many forms and phenomena in nature have close relationships with the various phases in human life.
Currently, Lisa teaches printmaking and design courses at Baldwin Wallace University and Notre Dame College. Her teaching career spans 36 years and includes a variety of experiences from teaching in public schools (K-12) to artists’ residencies, internships and colleges.
She has exhibited her work in juried, invitational and solo shows since 1984 and has artwork in the collections of the Cleveland Museum of Art and the Cleveland Clinic Foundation.
Lisa is a resident artist at Zygote Press where she makes prints and also teaches and volunteers. Last fall she was one of two recipients of the Zygote/Ohio Arts Council sponsored Dresden Artist Exchange Residency in Germany.
